Inverness has many services including a French elementary school (children who attend English school are bussed to Thetford Mines), a post office, a Caisse Populaire, a library, a hardware store, a grocery store and as well as a residence for senior citizens.

There are many organizations and community groups that participate actively in the municipality such as: the Economical Development Committee of Inverness, le Cercle des Fermières , the Golden Agers Club, the Optimist Club, the Megantic Historical Society, the Woman’s Institute, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Orange Lodge and the 12-18 Youth Club.
